I was today old when I learned that the software’s called btop++, not just btop :)
I’m a big fan of btop, and probably a big chunk of that is that the default configuration is useful and very easy to understand. I can’t be bothered to spend hours configuring a monitoring app and learning obscure keyboard shortcuts to navigate it; if I’m opening a system monitor it’s because I want info, not because I want to live in it.
How does it compare to htop? I always found that good.
It can also shows disk, network and GPU stats, so a very complete overview. And it can be themed to integrate well with your desktop theme.
It just generally has more bells & whistles. “Kitchen sink”
But I use htop almost exclusively, it gives me what I need and is super convenient to use, compared to top.
I’ve been using this for a while. It’s neat. Just needed to turn of all the theming, it looked silly.
This is also available via homebrew, good stuff!
